Changes a few existing items to require concrete instead of steel, as well as adding concrete walls and reinforced concrete "bunker" walls and embrasures. Obviously.Ĭoncrete - 01/20/18 - Adds concrete to the game. I guess I can look forward to whatever Tynan makes next, so it's not too sad, but still.Archipelagos - 12/05/17 - Adds archipelago (island chain) biomes to the world map, so you can now play RimWorld on islands.īasic Bridges - 01/07/18 - Allows you to build bridges. It was undoubtedly the best "early access" experience I've ever had, and it looks to be wrapping up. I have been following this game for years, always new features and gameplay to explore every few months, and always the perhaps vain hopes of personally-desired features to be added later (Z levels and a more thorough worldgen like DF very high on that list). I'm fine with that, of course, the game is so feature rich and enjoyable in its current form I can play it for a long time. Which means, mods aside, the gameplay as it is now is essentially how it will be on final release. While I of course fully welcome a high quality addition to current content, my concern is that this is typically what you'd see in a shift from alpha to beta, and that generally means that the game is mostly feature-finished. It's frankly hard to remember exactly due to all the mods I've been running all the while, but I'm pretty sure vanilla has been "minimal diversity, minimal addition" throughout. There are still basically 4 temperate tree species. Maybe he's just not discussing them until they're for-sure going to be implemented, but I think he's been more open about planned features in the past than that.Īnd Tynan has mostly avoided much embellishment of preexisting features throughout development - furniture for instance has been basically the same small list of options for a couple years now. There certainly are no new "super features" planned, like we had with farm animals being introduced, or the global travel/interaction system, or new siege and AI mechanics. More quests, diseases, shells, incidents, visuals, biomes, etc. Caves are arguably a new feature, but not much of one (maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised about that, though). Just my initial reaction to his latest tweet, but most of what Tynan revealed in his two latest A18 tweets is not new features but rather just the expansion of preexisting features. r/RimWorldStreams - For all of your videos and streams needs r/RimWorldTales - /u/srgrafo's Rimworld Comic Series r/RimworldSwap - Swap saves with other players r/ShitRimworldSays - /r/nocontext posts about /r/RimWorld r/RimworldArt - Posts about Rimworld Artwork (not fanart!) r/Rimreddit - Colonists playing only on a single planet r/RimWorldPorn - High Quality Images of Rimworld Colonies No discussing pirated versions of the game.
